Magnolia House, located on South Lake Avenue, remains one of Pasadena\'s premier and most enduring cocktail bars and dining establishments. We are currently seeking applications from seasoned servers with a deep enthusiasm for cuisine and drinks.

Magnolia House is more than a restaurant and bar—it is a true experience. We are looking for engaging, professional, and well-informed servers to become part of our team. If you can discuss an unconventional skin-contact wine with the same ease as explaining the cooking method behind a perfectly crispy pork belly, we are eager to connect with you.

This position demands authentic passion and the skill to provide a personalized, high-quality dining experience smoothly, even within a bustling and popular environment.

Your Qualifications:

• Cocktail & Spirits Knowledge: Solid understanding of classic cocktails, contemporary methods, and high-end spirits. Must be capable of making persuasive recommendations and enhancing sales.
• Wine Proficiency: Demonstrated skill in navigating a carefully selected wine list that highlights distinctive regional offerings. You should be at ease talking about grape varieties, wine regions, and complementary food pairings.
• Service Background: A minimum of two years of prior experience in a respected high-volume restaurant, cocktail lounge, or fine dining setting. You must handle a busy section while upholding flawless attention to detail.
• Team Culture: An energetic and optimistic demeanor that fits our lively setting. Reliability, effective collaboration, and maintaining composure during busy periods are essential.
• Food Understanding: The capacity to convey the chef\'s concepts, describe components, and confidently address inquiries about current culinary trends and dietary needs.

Primary Duties: Delivering the Experience

• Provide smooth table service, delivering food and beverages within your section and assisting the broader service team.
• Serve as a menu authority, leading guests through our frequently updated cocktail and wine options with both accuracy and enthusiasm.
• Handle payment and point-of-sale transactions quickly and accurately.
• Keep the dining area and service stations clean, tidy, and organized throughout your shift.
• Adhere to all guidelines for responsible alcohol service, such as verifying identification and monitoring guest consumption.

• An hourly rate of $18, in addition to substantial gratuities.

Additional Prerequisites:

• Open availability for a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Applicants must be available for at least four shifts per week, including weekends, to be considered.
• Valid food handler certification is mandatory.
• Current ABC Responsible Beverage Service certification is required.
• Assured familiarity with craft cocktails, beer, and food and wine pairings.
